'This is just reward for our consistency' says Justin Skinner

Millwall U21s coach praises attitude and application of his side

Lions U21s coach Justin Skinner is looking forward to a Play-Off clash with Huddersfield Town after his side beat Ipswich Town 2-0 on Monday afternoon to clinch second place in the Professional Development League 2.

Goals from Kyron Farrell and Joseph Otudeko sealed the deal and Justin praised the performance and the consistency of all those representing his team throughout the season.

"We were fortunate to have a few first team boys with us today which enabled me to name a strongish team," he told millwallfc.co.uk

"
We got off to a great start with Kyron's goal which went in with the help of a slight deflection.

"I felt we were always in control of the game from that point, and apart from one excellent save near the end, Fordey (David Forde) was rarely troubled.

"We played very well in the second half and could have scored more goals to be honest, but in the end we ran out quite comfortable winners.

"The Play-Off match at Huddersfield, which might even be next week, is reward for our consistency throughout the season, and who knows, we might reach the Final against either Charlton or Sheffield United.

"Another U21s fixture might also benefit one or two senior players on the fringes of the first team who could need a game with the prospect of the League One Play-Offs coming up too."
