Millwall U21s team news ahead of Cardiff City clash

1 April 2016

Skipper Tony Craig set to get more match minutes

Millwall U21s will be aiming to record back-to-back wins as they head to South Wales for a Professional Development League clash at fellow high-flyers Cardiff City (3pm).

A first-half goal from Alfie Pavey was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Justin Skinner's charges against Bristol City this week and they hope to build on that with another maximum points haul at the Vale Resort (3pm).

The young Lions were able to call on the experience of skipper Tony Craig during Tuesday's hard-fought 1-0 success against Bristol with defender TC playing the first 45 minutes of that game. This was his first competitive action since sustaining a knee injury at Peterborough United last October - and is set to get more useful match minutes under his belt as he steps up his rehabilitation.

Goalkeeper Ryan Sandford, who signed his first pro contract at The Den 13 days ago - is included in the travelling squad along with U21s regulars such as Chris Parr, James Brown, Ebere Eze, Mikael Ndjoli and Kris Twardek.

Millwall have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five matches but know that they are in for a really tough match at the Vale Resort as they lock horns with a Cardiff side who have recorded five wins on the spin and are unbeaten in seven matches.

Squad: Girling, Parr, Bray, Brown, Craig, Twardek, Donovan, Farrell, Ebe, White, Ndjoli, Sandford, Leighton, Fitzgerald, Mulrooney-Skinner, McNamara.
