Lions striker delighted with treble at Crewe, but now focusing on Port Vale
Aiden O'Brien captured the hearts of Millwall fans with his hat-trick heroics at Crewe on Saturday - and the imagination of the headline writers too.
'O'Brien treble derails Crewe' and 'Neil Harris praises hat-trick hero Aiden' were just two of the headlines in the press following the young striker's first-ever senior treble, but for 21-year-old Aiden, the real satisfaction lay in the fact that Millwall picked up three points to move out of the League One bottom three.
"I've scored hat-tricks for the U18s and U21s before, but to score for the first team was different, it was unreal," he said.
"It is always good to win and if you do that then the camp is buzzing, happy, smiling and confident.
"We have to be happy with the result at Crewe as a team, but the most important thing now is to focus on Tuesday night's game at Port Vale. Saturday has been and gone, it's all about the next game now."
Millwall's away form this season has been excellent, taking seven points from a possible nine, but The Lions face a Vale side who have tasted defeat just once this campaign.
However Tuesday night's trip holds no fear for Aiden, who enthused: "We have won two in a row now against Peterborough and Crewe so we are going to Port Vale with our heads high and full of confidence. We’re going there looking to take all three points."
