Millwall make a return to Sky Bet League One action on Saturday when they face Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road (3pm).

The Lions have not had a fixture since the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Peterborough United but now face two long away trips in a matter of days with a game against Port Vale coming up on Tuesday.

Neil Harris' side are chasing their first League victory since the opening day of the season while Crewe, managed by Steve Davis, are yet to pick up a win so far in 2015/16.

Team news

Millwall will be without right-back Shaun Cummings, who is sidelined with a hamstring tear. That could mean a first League start in almost 12 months for Carlos Edwards after he impressed against The Posh on his return to first team action earlier this month.

Shane Ferguson featured for Northern Ireland during the international break after overcoming a hamstring injury and looks set to return to the squad.

Jack Powell impressed on his first League start of the season against Chesterfield but Shaun Williams, who came back in against Peterborough and scored the winner, is also vying for a return to the starting line-up, leaving Harris with a selection dilemma in midfield.

Striker Aiden O'Brien is also pushing for a start along with fellow forwards Steve Morison and Lee Gregory.

Crewe will be without midfielders Billy Bingham (hamstring) and James Jones (shoulder), while Callum Saunders is struggling with a muscle injury and is unlikely to feature.

Powerful striker Marcus Haber will have his fitness assessed ahead of the game after extensive travelling with Canada during the recent international break.

Saturday's game at Gresty Road will be the 32nd meeting between the two sides.

To date it is Crewe who hold the better head-to-head record with 12 wins to Millwall's 10 in all competitions.

Four of the previous 31 encounters came during the 2008/9 season when the teams met twice in the League and also in the FA Cup - a tie that went to a Second Leg which The Lions won 3-2.

That result means that Millwall will be looking for a third straight win at Gresty Road on Saturday after also beating Crewe there in League action two months after that FA Cup success.
