Full-time score from Harlington
Ebere Eze scored his first ever hat-trick for Millwall U21s and Mikael Ndjoli bagged another as The Lions returned to winning ways with an emphatic 4-0 away win against QPR in Tuesday afternoon's Elite Development Squad fixture at Harlington.
The young Lions went into action determined to put the disappointment of a 2-0 home defeat by Huddersfield firmly behind, and did so to near-perfection against their London rivals.
After an even opening 10 minutes the home side carved out the first scoring opportunity of the game when Ben Pattie's deep cross picked out Olamide Shodipo who fired into the side netting.
Ndjoli quickly showed Millwall's intentions at the other end, only to to see his crisp shot deflected wide of the target via James Haran.
Haran was not so fortunate on 21 minutes, however, when his misplaced pass was intercepted by livewire Eze and the young Lion raced forward before despatching a low shot beyond the reach of keeper Conor Hudnott.
Pattie rattled the woodwork with a long-range effort seconds after the restart, but it was the closest Rangers would come to testing Harry Girling in the Millwall goal during a comfortable first-half for Justin Skinner's side.
The Lions were a whisker away from doubling their tally after the break when Ndjoli forced keeper Hudnott into a smart save, while at the other end, Girling was quick to avert the danger as he clawed away Pattie's goal-bound volley.
Millwall doubled their tally on 56 minutes. Mahlon Romeo whipped over an inviting cross that Ndjoli did well to meet under pressure from Harly Wise and get the final touch, nudging the ball over the line.
Romeo could have got on the scoresheet himself, but a diving save from Hudnott kept out the Antigua & Barbudan international's low fizzer.
However there was nothing Hudnott could do to prevent Eze adding his second - and Millwall's third - goal 10 minutes later when the home side were caught on the counter-attack following a corner and the teenager provided the finishing touch from 12 yards.
The lively Eze completed his treble in some style 10 minutes from time when he thumped an unstoppable half-volley from 20 yards out into the roof of the net to put the seal on an excellent all-round team display.
Girling, Parr, Chesmain, Romeo, Wood, Mbulu, Cowan-Hall (Brown), Farrell, Ndjoli, Eze, Twardek. Subs not used: Sandford, Bray, White, Ezechukwu.
