Read our in-depth guide to Saturday's game at Bramall Lane

Millwall face Sheffield United for the first time since February 2011 when the two sides meet at Bramall Lane on Saturday (12.15pm).

The Blades, managed by Nigel Adkins, have won five of their seven home League games so far, including a comfortable 3-0 victory over Fleetwood Town earlier this week.

But The Lions are in good form on the road having lost just one of seven matches away from The Den, the latest of which was a draw against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night.

What the managers say

Nigel Adkins: "If we get ourselves into a position where we get two points (on average) a game you go up automatically. We're just off that at the moment and will endeavour to get three points to build that momentum. Millwall are going to be a tough nut to crack so we have to go and break them down." Neil Harris: "We know that they are a good team and they have got dangerous players. There is a lot of physical presence in their team, some pace, and they score goals. It's a good test for us and for the young players to go to Bramall Lane and play against a good side. Sheffield United have been there or thereabouts for the last few years so undoubtedly they are one of the favourites for promotion." Read more from Harris by clicking here.

Team news

Loan signing Dean Hammond is expected to retain his place in the centre of midfield after impressing on his Sheffield United debut earlier this week.

Paul Coutts and Jose Baxter both looked bright after coming off the bench against The Cod Army and will be pushing for inclusion in the starting line-up this Saturday.

Adkins will be without David Edgar (hamstring), Jay McEveley (toe), Craig Alcock (ribs), John Brayford (knee), James Wallace (groin) and Florent Cuvelier (thigh).

In more positive news for the Blades boss, though, Bob Harris and Ryan Flynn both made comebacks for United's U21 squad on Wednesday so could feature this weekend.

As for Millwall, Harris has confirmed that midfielder Shaun Williams will be given right up to kick-off to prove his fitness after limping off in the second-half at Bloomfield Road with a back injury.

Ben Thompson came on for the Irishman on Tuesday and will compete for a starting berth should Williams be unable to feature.

Elsewhere, Carlos Edwards serves a one-game suspension after his red card in the latter stages of Tuesday's draw but Paris Cowan-Hall, who has returned to training, could come back into the manager's thinking. Jimmy Abdou and Ed Upson remain absent.

The two sides have met on 47 previous occasions, of which 21 have ended in victories for Sheffield United. The Lions have won 18 and the remaining eight have ended in draws.

All but three of those 47 games have been in the League, the last of which was a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane back in 2011 when Kevin Lisbie scored a late equaliser for Millwall. The Lions last won away to Sheffield United in April 2005.

Lions supporters are reminded that Saturday's game has been made all-ticket. There will be strictly no ticket sales on the day.

Pink Day at the Lane

Bramall Lane will be transformed into a sea of pink on Saturday as The Blades, along with Breast Cancer Care, host a 'Turn the Lane Pink' day aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for the Sheffield-based section of the charity.

The club have been asking supporters to get behind the cause in the build up to the game at Bramall Lane, which will be given a pink makeover from the boardroom to the concourses and stands.

Players will be warming up in Breast Cancer Care t-shirts and the home side will also play in a special home kit emblazoned with the charity's logo.

Sheffield United are odds-on 19/20 favourites for the game, while Millwall are priced at 14/5 to pick up an away victory.
