Ferguson features as Northern Ireland secure top spot
Millwall loanee Shane Ferguson came on as a second-half substitute during Northern Ireland's 1-1 draw away to Finland on Sunday night.Defender Craig Cathcart headed Michael O'Neill's side in front during the first-half and despite a late leveller from Paulus Arajuuri, the result was enough to ensure that Northern Ireland ended a triumphant Euro 2016 qualifying campaign top of Group F.
On a mixed night for Millwall's international contingent, goalkeeper David Forde was an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland lost 2-1 away to Poland.
Grzegorz Krychowiak handed the home side an early lead before Forde's side hit back with a penalty from Jon Walters. But in-form forward Robert Lewandowski headed home what turned out to be the winner shortly before the interval, consigning the Republic of Ireland to a Play-Off spot in Group D. They will find out their opponents when the draw is made on Sunday.
