U21s manager delighted as young Lions take derby honoursElite Development Squad manager Justin Skinner hailed his young charges for their 'outstanding' attitude after watching Millwall U21s record their biggest away win of the season with a 4-0 thumping of QPR on Tuesday afternoon.
Fielding a particularly young side due to the senior team facing Blackpool in a League One fixture later that same day, Skinner was delighted with the manner in which his charges embraced a tough derby task.
"I couldn't fault the team, their attitude was outstanding," enthused Justin. "We had a number missing such as Sid Nelson, Jack Powell and Alfie Pavey because of the first team game at Blackpool so it was a pretty young team, with the likes of Ebere Eze, Noah Chesmain and Mikael Ndjoli involved.
"I was delighted for Ebere to complete his first hat-trick at this level. He is still really learning his football in the U18s with us and because we were slightly short on numbers, I had to shuffle the pack so he was asked to play a No. 10 role, which he did ever so well.
"We had all been disappointed with our last result against Huddersfield so this was a positive way to respond, and some of our play was really excellent.
"Our third goal in particular, pleased me. It came from a QPR corner but we broke and there was some really good movement and passing of the ball before Ebere provided the finish.
"His third goal, and our fourth, was another excellent finish. It was a lovely strike from him and his performance showed a lot of maturity."
