Aiden earns October's award after an impressive run of form
Millwall forward Aiden O'Brien has been crowned Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for October.
It is the first time that O'Brien, 22, has picked up such an award in his career so far and comes after an impressive run of form which saw him score three League goals in October, including a clinical brace away to Sheffield United. The Irishman beat off competition from Coventry City's Adam Armstrong, Bradford City defender Reece Burke and Jon Taylor of Peterborough United for the latest monthly award.
O'Brien told millwallfc.co.uk: "It is a great moment for me to win this award but I wouldn't have been able to without my team-mates. We have managed to start climbing up the table in recent weeks and it is always good to play your part by scoring goals.
"Quite a few of the lads have been chipping in so far this season, which is always important, and hopefully that will continue. October was a good month for us and we need to carry on playing in the same way."
Lions boss Neil Harris added: "It's a fantastic achievement for young Aiden to win the Player of the Month award. We have had a real upturn in our performances with some great results of late and Aiden's form has been a big part of that.
"He is a terrific young man, a real infectious character, and he players with desire and enthusiasm. We are all witnessing his ability at the moment."
