Loanee Shane keen to add to Saturday's brace
Shane Ferguson is targeting more goals for Millwall after he opened his Lions account with a brace in Saturday's 4-1 win over Colchester United. The Northern Ireland international, on loan from Newcastle United, struck in the 38th and 62nd minute to help Millwall to a comprehensive victory against the Essex side.
And with a busy schedule of fixtures coming up - starting away to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night - Ferguson is hoping to help Millwall's cause by netting more in the coming weeks.
"I'm just delighted to get my first couple of goals," the 24-year-old told the media after Saturday's victory, which stretched Millwall's unbeaten run to nine games.
"I've been taking a bit of stick from the boys and the manager but thankfully it's come now and hopefully I can get a few more. I've worked hard in training on my finishing and credit to the lads as well who set me up. That helps a lot."
Discussing Millwall's run of good form, Ferguson added: "You can see (the effects) on the whole squad, not just in the lads who are playing but in the young lads as well. It's helping them a lot.
"It makes you try things as well because you're confident and you can see that on matchdays."
