Young midfielder relishing first-team opportunity
Having made his senior debut during the 2014/15 in a Carling Cup tie against Southampton, the tenacious and highly competitive midfielder has gone on to make 12 appearances for The Lions this season, including Saturday's 3-1 Emirates FA Cup First Round win against AFC Fylde.
Speaking to the assorted press after the game, Ben talked not only about how a half-time talking to from manager Neil Harris kick-started The Lions into action after a goalless first 45 minutes, but also spoke about his hopes and ambitions for the future.
"The more experience I get is just going to help me further my career."
"There was a lot of criticism from the manager at half-time. I wouldn't say harsh words, but it was a poor, poor first-half. They told us what to do in the second-half and we just went out and did the job.
"At the start of the game we said we were going to go out with same intensity as we would at any game, maybe we did slack off a bit, but I thought in the second-half we did well and got the result."
