Chopper: It was an easy decision to make

Neil Harris on his appointment as Millwall manager

Neil Harris has said that accepting the manager's job at Millwall was an 'easy' decision to make.

Speaking exclusively to Chopper, whose appointment as permanent successor to Ian Holloway was confirmed on Wednesday, said: "It was very easy, I've embraced it with a real open and positive frame of mind.

"The last eight weeks have been challenging and to come in to this as quickly was a bit of a surprise, but it's the way it's gone and I've enjoyed it. Yes, there is the disappointment of relegation, of course there is, but there is optimism for the future.

"The young players coming through have been a real bonus. The way the players have performed on the pitch and have conducted themselves off it, has been fantastic.

"The support I have had from the staff, the board and mainly from the fans has made it easy.

"The loyalty of the fans of the club is huge and the support the players get is quite outstanding at times, but to be in the bottom three for so long this season and have the support that the fans have given the players, shows that there is a sense of optimism and belief."
