Lionesses aim to upset Gunners
Fresh from their opening day draw with London Bees, Millwall Lionesses return to action at The Den this Sunday with a mouth-watering Fifth Round FA Cup tie against Arsenal Ladies. The Gunners are the current holders of the Cup and their
star-studded side includes no less than six England internationals with a combined total of over 400 caps to their name, so Dan Mlinar's Lionesses will very much be regarded as the underdogs for this contest. "We need to be organised, have a good game plan and out-work them." said Mlinar, "
There are no points at stake here, it's just about reaching the next round. We need to be solid to an extent, but we can't just be that and invite on pressure without having any attacking threat ourselves.
"We want to go through to the Sixth Round and the fact that it's a Cup game means that we have to be more adventurous at times, it's just picking the right times to do that and make sure we don't give anything silly away."
Millwall played host to the Gunners in a pre-season friendly at Beckenham last month, with the visitors running out 3-0 winners and Mlinar
believes the experience will benefit his players in Sunday's match. He added: "We've seen what Arsenal's strengths are and that's something we can try and combat.
"We didn't really cause them many problems in the final third but we've made a couple of tweaks and corrections that might be able to help us do that."
"If we start to flag or we need to change something, I expect the bench to have a big say."
I think there will be personnel changes, not many, just one or two to make sure that we can work for 90 minutes.
