Back The Lionesses at The Den on Sunday
Dan Mlinar's Lionesses warmed up for this weekend's mouthwatering clash with a 0-0 draw against London Bees in the opening WSL 2 game of the campaign on Wednesday night - and the manager knows he will have no trouble motivating his players to face Arsenal.
"We planned in advance to change our formation for Arsenal and there will be one or two personnel changes so we don't go into the game against Arsenal with heavy legs."
Mlinar will be hoping that his side can create the same number of chances against Arsenal as they did in their match with London Bees, but this time convert any scoring opportunity they may get. "We created good chances in the game, four one-on-ones, 10 good opportunities, four on target and one off the post," he said. "We were dominant and in control of the game and we should have taken all three points. We need to be more clinical in the decision making, however, there are positives to take from it."
Mlinar handed Super League debuts to close-season signings Megan Goss and Rinsola Babajide and was quick to praise their performances, adding: "There were a lot of pluses; Megan in particular worked very hard against her old side and Rinsola has got all the physical attributes to be a top player."
