Millwall midfielder Onyedinma signs new deal

Lions youngster agrees contract extension

Millwall's teenage midfielder Fred Onyedinma has this afternoon signed a new deal that extends his contract until the summer of 2017.

Fred, 18, made his first senior appearance for The Lions as a sub at Southend United in January 2014 aged just 17 and made his full League debut in the derby against Charlton four days later, walking away with the Man of the Match award following the 0-0 draw.

Twice named as Millwall's Young Player of the Year, attacking midfielder Fred appeared on four occasions for The Lions at the start of last season but then joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan to gain some valuable regular first team League football.

He was an instant hit with The Chairboys and hit eight goals - five of which came in a four-game spell - in 25 matches as Wycombe qualified for the 2014/15 League Two Play-Offs, missing out to Southend United in the Final at Wembley.
