Who, where and when for The Lions
Millwall kick-off the new campaign in a game that pairs The Lions with fellow League One newcomers Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 8th August.
It will be the first time Millwall have ever played at the New Meadow stadium, and is one of a number of grounds that Neil Harris' charges will be making a debut appearance at.
Coventry City are first up at home in League One for The Lions on Saturday 15th August, making their first appearance at The Den since 1st November 2011 when Darius Henderson (2) and Liam Feeney scored in a 3-0 home win.
Two teams that The Lions have never faced in a competitive match before - Burton Albion and Fleetwood - will be faced in successive away fixtures on 14th and 24th November respectively.
Gillingham, the League One team located closest to us geographically this coming season, visit The Den on Saturday 19th December with the return game at Priestfield scheduled for the final day of the campaign, confirmed for all League One clubs as Sunday 8th May with a 12.30pm kick-off.
With a lot of travelling coming up over the next nine months, Millwall will at least have the luxury of playing at The Den on Boxing Day when Dean Smith's Walsall are the visitors, whilst two days later there will be an opportunity to blow those Christmas cobwebs away with some fresh sea air and a trip to the seaside at Southend United (28th December).
There is no New Year's Day game, but The Lions squad will be travelling as they prepare for a match at Barnsley on 2nd January - Millwall's first away fixture of 2016 followed by Scunthorpe United at home on Saturday 9th January.
March and April see The Lions play a hefty 12 games in total, with seven of those fixtures at The Den including Sheffield United
(19th March), Burton Albion
(28th March), Fleetwood (19th April) and then Oldham Athletic
providing the opposition for the last home League One match of the season on 30th April, just as they did in that memorable 2000/1 campaign!
