Lions manager Chopper says his players will go into 2015/16 "fit and hungry"
Millwall's pre-season training schedule begins two weeks today and Neil Harris admits that tough plans are in place to ensure his players are as fit as they can be ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
The squad report back to Calmont Road on Thursday 25th June and will spend 10 days there before heading to Portugal for a week-long training camp in early July.
And Harris, who is hoping to add fresh faces to his squad in the coming weeks, says he can't wait for the hard work to begin.
"We're getting quite excited," he said. "We've been putting pre-season schedules together and fixtures are almost complete. We're really pleased with that.
"We've been talking to the fitness coaches about the amount of running we are going to do, the gym work and the video work.
"It's really key and we have serious thoughts about how important pre-season is for us.
"I hear managers talking about it all the time - getting the chance to work in pre-season with the players to get their ideas across and how key it is - and I see that now.
"The work you can do in that six or seven week period is going to be vital for the whole season.
"They will work hard. My players will be fit and hungry, and they are going to have a tough pre-season."
