Assistant boss focused on group dynamic

Dave Livermore targets 'all-for-one' attitude

Assistant boss Dave Livermore believes an 'all-for-one, one-for-all' mentality could be a key factor for The Lions this season.
The Millwall squad leave for a training camp in Portugal at the weekend, and Livers believes that the so-called 'down time' could prove as vital as the work done on the training pitch.

"We're looking to create a real sense of togetherness within the squad," explained Livers. "We're  emphasising that everyone is there to support each other in everything we do, and the opportunity for the players to get to know each other better and spend time relaxing in each other's company will be a vital aspect of the trip.

"If you look back to the successful sides Chopper and I were part of at Millwall, that camaraderie between the players was a vital ingredient. We spent quite a bit of time together socially as a group, and I'm sure that helped us when the chips were down on the pitch."

Neil Harris has already gone on record as saying that he is looking at the personality and character of players and their compatability with rest of the squad when contemplating recruiting new additions.

Dave Livermore added: "There will be times when our togetherness as a group will be tested during the course of the season, when things go wrong or players are out of the team. The work we're doing now will hopefully stand us in good stead when those challenges come along."
