Behind-closed-doors friendly ends 2-2 at Calmont Road
Jack Powell and Jamie Philpot were on the scoresheet as a Millwall Xl drew 2-2 with Welling United in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.
The game at Calmont Road was another chance for several members of Neil Harris' squad to improve their fitness levels and match sharpness ahead of next week's season opener away to Shrewsbury Town. That included winger Paris Cowan-Hall, who got 60 minutes under his belt.
As for the match itself, Millwall took the lead in the first-half when Powell's free-kick was allowed to bounce in the box before going past keeper Micheal McEntegart and into the corner of the net.
That lead was doubled in the second period as an unmarked Philpot headed home a corner.
Welling halved the deficit when Sahr Kabba tapped in following an impressive solo run from Ricky Wellard and the away side completed a comeback when Affy Obafemi scored from the penalty spot.
