Young forward Aiden to miss all of August
Scan results have confirmed that as expected Millwall striker Aiden O'Brien ruptured his ankle ligaments during Saturday's 1-1 pre-season friendly draw with AFC Wimbledon. The 21-year-old was stretchered off after 13 minutes having sustained the injury during a tackle and will definitely miss all of the club's fixtures in August.
O'Brien will remain in a protective boot for the short-term and will see a consultant once swelling has decreased at the end of this week.
"At this stage of the season it is a blow to lose Aiden for at least six weeks," Lions boss Neil Harris told millwallfc.co.uk.
"We saw at the end of last season that Aiden is a player who is beginning to realise his huge potential.
"Naturally it is very disappointing not just for me but also for the boy himself. We hope it is just a minor set-back for Aiden and he can come back fitter and stronger."
In other injury news, Paris Cowan-Hall returned to training on Monday.
