Lions donate kits to orphan kids who wear them with pride

Millwall Football Club recently teamed up with the charity 'Wear A Shirt' and donated some of last year's training kit to the Wire Soccer Academy in Kenya.

The aim of the charity is to provide resources and hope to those caught in the cycle of poverty.

Simon Okelo who runs the Academy explained: "We are volunteers from various communities coming together with the commitment to see life change for the impoverished and underprivileged orphans, children and families of Kenya.

"We are grateful to Millwall and all your management for such a kind gesture. We thank you for providing soccer uniforms for those who are in need. There were tears of joy when they saw the kit."

And the news gets even better....we have just received the following report from Simon along with some photos.

"I am delighted to tell you that we played our first league match on Saturday against Nyangiela Young Stars, beating them by 4 goals to 1," added Simon. "The spirit and morale of the kids has gone sky high."

Clearly the Millwall kits really are doing the trick!
