Active step taken to promote getting healthy and staying active
Walking Football has become one of the fastest growing sports in England - and Millwall For All are delighted to stage its first ever 'Walking Football Games Day' on Friday 3rd July.
Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle, whatever their age, as well as getting those back playing football who may have had to stop through injury.
Described as 'a slower paced version of the beautiful game', the rules of Walking Football are similar to the normal game, with the main difference that players are not allowed to run.
This game can be played by all ages, abilities, gender and sizes and the focus is on getting healthy and staying active.
Millwall have taken an active step to promote and raise the profile of Walking Football in our local area and most recently former Lions defender and skipper Dave Cusack, joined in the fun too.
The event this Friday will be held at the Millwall Lions Centre, beginning at 11am and finishing at 3pm. Refreshments will be provided for everyone and there will be areas for families and friends to watch from.
Anyone can simply 'Turn up and Play’, so come down and take part in our free event.
