WSL 2 campaign kicks-off with a double header at The Den
The FA Women's Super League 2015 fixtures have been announced this afternoon and Millwall Lionesses will start their season with back to back home games at The Den.
The Lionesses season opens with what is sure to be a hotly contested home clash with local rivals London Bees under The Den floodlights on Wednesday 18th March.
Then, just 10 days later on Sunday 29th March, The Den will stage a replay of the 1997 Women's League Cup Final as Millwall take on Everton Ladies in WSL action.
Other mouth-watering matches include a challenging trip to Reading Women on Saturday 23rd May where the Lionesses back four will have to work hard to shackle Women's World Cup bound England international forward Fran Kirby.
Millwall's toughest month could come in August as the Lionesses travel to Merseyside to take on former WSL 1 stars Everton on Sunday 9 August and then two weeks later (Sunday 23 August), last season's WSL 2 runners-up Doncaster Belles travel to the Lionesses in a game that could have a major bearing on the WSL promotion race.
Having ended our first season in WSL 2 with a championship-deciding fixture against eventual champions Sunderland Ladies, the Lionesses look set to play a part in this season's title race as well.
First the Lionesses complete their home fixtures against highly-rated Reading Women on Sunday 4th October before travelling to Doncaster Belles on the final day of the season, Sunday 18th October.
