Midfielder pleased to get first full 90 minutes of senior action
Young midfield prospect Jack Powell was pleased to get his first full 90 minutes in the Championship under his belt against Ipswich Town on Saturday - and is hoping for another slice of the action when The Lions host Reading in eight days' time.Jack, who turns 21 on 29th January, made his League debut for The Lions against Blackpool back in September, and made two subsequent Championship appearances prior to Saturday's game with the Tractor Boys.
But like his midfield partner Jimmy Abdou, Jack put in a solid shift against Mick McCarthy's side and although disappointed with the result, was glad to be back in the thick of the action again.
Speaking to Lions Player he said: "Personally I was pleased to be back involved and pleased to get my first 90 minutes in the League. I obviously played against Blackpool but came off with 10 (minutes) to go and then came off at half-time in a couple of other games.
With The Lions' next game against Reading at The Den on Tuesday 27th January, there is a little longer than usual to prepare for the match and that, according to Jack, could work in Millwall's favour as five new signings settle in follow their move to the club this month.
