There was drama both on and off the field at the City Ground as Millwall recorded only their third away win of the season with a vital 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.Super sub Ricardo Fuller stepped off the bench to grab an 83rd-minute winner, showing quick thinking and great control to capitalise on a weak defensive header from Stephen McLaughlin and round keeper Dorius de Vries before firing home from close range.
That late goal goal proved to be the perfect send-off for Lions assistant boss Marc Bircham, who announced after the game that it was to be his last at Millwall as he is taking up a similar position with Chicago Fire in the MSL.
