Robbie Ryan and Alfie Pavey on Lions Live

17 December 2015

A ghost of Millwall past and a prospect for the future guest tonight

"Don't worry, he couldn't hit a barn door from five feet!" or maybe even "He's just a flash in the pan. He'll never amount to anything much!"

You could idle away countless hours around the pub table ruminating on what advice or encouragement Dennis Wise may have offered genial Dubliner Robbie Ryan as he assigned him the unenviable task of marking one Cristiano Ronaldo, before he emerged from the tunnel to the roar of thousands of Millwall fans at the Millenium Stadium in 2004.

The affable Irishman will be in the Lions Live studio tonight to talk about his time at The Den, his time since The Den, and of course, which, if any, of the above pearls of wisdom his manager handed him before that FA Cup final.

In the second half of tonight's programme the Lions Live team are joined by a youngster who has become a regular sight on the subs bench this season and is steadily paving his way to a regular first team spot, Alfie Pavey. Alfie has run out twice already for The Lions this season and he'll be joining proceedings to discuss his hopes for the future in south London.

And if your Christmas Day dinner hasn't robbed you of the ability to shuffle beyond the boundaries of your own front door, then tonight's competition prize may whet your appetite even further. Two tickets for Millwall's Boxing Day clash against Walsall will be heading the way of the lucky winner.
