20-year-old Academy graduate puts pen-to-paper
Ben Thompson has extended his stay at Millwall by signing a new contract which runs until the summer of 2017.
The midfielder, who joined the club's Academy set-up at 16 and is a boyhood fan of The Lions, has impressed in the 15 appearances he has made so far this season.
And with a contract extension now signed, Thompson, 20, has his sights set on continuing his rise to prominence in the first team. He told millwallfc.co.uk: "I'm delighted to have extended my contract. I'm really enjoying being a part of the first team, training and playing with a great set of lads and learning from the management team. Hopefully I can push into the starting Xl more and more in the coming months and make a positive impact on and off the pitch."
Millwall boss Neil Harris added: "It is important for us that we tie our best young players down. Ben's new contract with us is just reward for his performances, his dedication, his commitment and his desire to improve, and he has earned this. I'm really pleased for him."
