Boss Chopper has his say
Millwall boss Neil Harris shared his sympathy for travelling Lions supporters after Saturday's Sky Bet League One match against Oldham Athletic was called off.
Referee Richard Clark and his fellow officials held a pitch inspection at 1.30pm and following extremely heavy rain, and having considered the forecast, then made the decision in the interest of safety to both sets of players.
"It is devastating for them having made that length of journey, especially considering the time it was before kick-off. Ultimately, though, the officials have to take the safety of the players into consideration and that is what led to the decision being made.
"We have had a lot of long away journeys already this season so it is disappointing that this one has been wasted but it is something we have to deal with."
