John looks forward to what 2016 may hold for the club
Millwall chairman John Berylson has praised the club's supporters and says he is looking forward to seeing what 2016 has in store for The Lions.
This calendar year is one which won't live long in the memory for many Millwall fans but there have been clear signs of progress and forward momentum under the stewardship of Neil Harris during the past few months.
And Berylson has echoed those sentiments and revealed what he wants to see from The Lions not just in 2016, but also in future seasons.
"Firstly the fans have been marvellous," he said.
"I think they recognise that we're trying to build a team. We have a strategy and we intend to stick to it.
"I like to know years in advance that we have a good team, which I do.
"I want one or two young lads coming out of the Academy each year who can play and I want to know that at any point in time we are only looking for one or two players, not five or six."
Monday's 4-0 win away to Southend United lifted Millwall back to within three points of the top six and Berylson is optimistic about his club's chances of success between now and May.
"It's a long season and we're seeing things which give us a lot of hope for what could occur in the second half," he added.
"This was going to be a rebuilding year and that is proving to be the case. The fans are seeing exactly what Neil is trying to do.
"I look forward to 2016. Whatever happens will happen but the key is to build a stronger team and the results will at some point prove themselves."
