EDS boss Justin hails disciplined performance as his young Lions beat CreweElite Development Squad manager Justin Skinner was full of praise for his side after they earned their first points of the season with a 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at Calmont Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Jamie Philpot struck the winner midway through the first-half with a crisp finish from close range and after that, despite enjoying more possession of the ball, Crewe were unable to truly test young Lions keeper Harry Girling.
"I'm delighted that the hard work the lads put in paid off with the win," Skinner told millwallfc.co.uk.
"We started off well and after the goal sat back a little bit. They had some more of the ball after that but didn't cause of many problems, which is testament to how well the lads kept their shape as a defensive unit.
"It was a disciplined and organised performance. When we had the ball we moved it with purpose and created five or so good chances.
"On a different day we may have won it more comfortably. The performance gives us a good base to work from for our next game against Charlton."
