Minute's silence

24 April 2015

Respect for Bradford Fire victims

Before Saturday's game against Derby County, and indeed every match up and down the country, there will be a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the tragic fire at Bradford City in 1985 that claimed 56 lives.

That season Millwall finished as runners-up to Bradford in the race for promotion to the old Second Division, and when we met in the FA Cup earlier this year we started the ball rolling in their appeal to raise £300,000 for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at the University of Bradford with a donation of £1,000.

Millwall chairman John Berylson commented: "It is a source of great pleasure and pride for me that, while we are prepared to fight tooth and nail to beat our opponents on the field, we are always ready to play our part in support of the wider football family."
