Lions pair suffer groin and fracture injuries
Millwall physio Bobby Bacic has confirmed that Shaun Williams will miss the rest of the season, while right-back Shaun Cummings is hoping to overcome a tear in his groin muscle before the campaign finishes in early May.
The pair missed Saturday's 0-0 draw with Cardiff City and after the match Bacic spoke to millwallfc.co.uk to explain why.
"Both injuries were picked up during the win over Wigan," he said.
"Cummings has a tear in a groin muscle and is working extremely hard so he can still play some part before the season ends.
"Unfortunately Williams won't feature again in 2014/15 after suffering a freak injury when colliding with the perimeter wall. He has sustained an impact fracture more common in snowboarders landing from height rather than footballers.
"We will give another update on his condition later next week after he has a review with the surgeon, but we expect to let the bone heal naturally."
Carlos Edwards remains a long-term absentee for Millwall.
"He has started some light outdoor work and continues to make good progress," Bacic said.
"That has pleased some of the U21 group, who he took for a gym fitness session earlier this week and finished half of them off!"
