Lions hope to make it a day to remember
Millwall are hoping that 27-year-old Lions fan Courtney Terry, fiance Billy and daughter Dolcie enjoy a day to remember at The Den on Saturday.
Courtney is battling cancer, having been diagnosed some six years ago, and doctors advised her to bring her wedding forward from November. The family are desperately trying to raise the £20,000 they need to fund the occasion.
Guy's Hospital got in touch with Millwall for help two weeks ago and Lucy Pepper in the Lions Press Office contacted the Southwark News in the first instance to help publicise their story.
For the Derby game Courtney, Billy and their family have been given the use of an Executive Box, whilst five-year-old Dolcie will be a special mascot on the day.
Millwall chairman John Berylson said: "This is a heart-rending story and we can only salute the bravery and determination of Courtney as she battles this awful disease.
"We are only too pleased to be able to help in some small way - we also offered to stage their reception but they have got that covered already - and my hope is that Neil and the boys can put in a match winning performance which will really put a smile on Courtney's face."
