Chris Parr offered pro contract

10 April 2015

Hard work pays off for young defender

Young defender Chris Parr has become the fourth Academy prospect to be offered a professional contract by Millwall.

Chris, 18, follows hot on the heels of Kris Twardek, Kyron Farrell and Jamie Philpot to complete a quartet of young Lions players handed a fantastic opportunity to kick on and carve out a career at The Den.

Academy Director Scott Fitzgerald said: "It is always pleasing to see young players rewarded for all their hard work with us over the years by being offered their first professional contracts. As I always tell them, they have now just got their foot on first rung the ladder and it is up to them to show they have what it takes to make a career for themselves."

This season alone has seen the likes of Sid Nelson, Jack Powell, Aiden O'Brien, Fred Onyedinma, Ben Thompson and Josh Siafa - all Academy graduates - featuring for the Millwall first team as home grown youngsters continue to prosper at The Den.
