Chopper: Your support has been fantastic

14 April 2015

Boss urges fans to get right behind the team again tonight

"They are focused and are ready to go again. The atmosphere in the dressing room after the Watford game was one of disappointment, but realism that we had been beaten by a really good side who scored two top quality goals.

"I know it can be difficult getting to games straight from work and so on, but the boys really do appreciate it," he said. "If you can get down to The Den tonight then please do. We appreciate your support - and the boys need it.

Lions interim boss Chopper is in no doubt just how crucial the positive, patient and passionate support from the stands could be during the 90 minutes.

With just five matches remaining, and The Lions sitting seven points adrift of Championship safety, the outcome of this evening's fixture against third-from-bottom Wigan could prove a defining moment for either team come 2nd May.

Neil Harris knows as well as anyone just how vital the vocal support of Millwall fans can be when the going gets tough, and tonight's relegation showdown with Wigan Athletic is right up there when it comes to big games.
"It has given us the belief in the squad that we can go into what is a huge game of football against Wigan with the confidence that we're playing well, creating chances and have the capabilities of winning."

Tickets are on general sale from the Millwall ticket office right up until kick-off at 7.45pm.
