Mark Beevers: Onwards and upwards

23 September 2014

Defender looks to build on promising performances

Mark Beevers is confident that Millwall's performances will soon start to produce more points as The Lions look to build on a promising start to the new campaign at Huddersfield Town this Saturday (3pm).

Last weekend's 0-0 draw against table-topping Nottingham Forest was the first time this season Stuart Pearce's side had not scored, and also a welcome second clean sheet of the campaign for Millwall.

"If you look at the league now we're smack in the middle," Beeves told Lions Player. "It's been a solid start for us and we've been playing really well. If we can build on that and turn it into positive results I can see us climbing up the table pretty quick.

"In our performances we are passing the ball around well and creating chances; it would be a worry if we weren't doing that but we are. The manager and players are upbeat about our performances and from a defensive point of view, it was good to get a clean sheet against Forest."

Looking ahead to this weekend's trip to the John Smith's Stadium he added: "We have got to approach Huddersfield like Nottingham Forest because every game is really tough and Huddersfield are no different to Forest.

"We will look at their weaknesses and strengths and will put things together to try and break them down. It wasn't to be against Nottingham Forest but there is no reason why we can't go up there and get all three points."
