Manager Alberto Kurti has stepped down from his role at the clubManager Alberto Kurti has left his post with Millwall Lionesses, due to family and work commitments.
Alberto first joined the club as goalkeeping coach, working alongside former managers Aidan Boxall, Matt Beard and Keith Boanas, before taking on the role of first team manager in 2011.
Having overseen the Lionesses transition to the FA Women’s Super League this season, he helped the team to a five game unbeaten start to the 2014 campaign.
Kurti explained his decision to leave earlier today, stating;
“After a lengthy conversation with the Board, we feel that I have taken the club as far as I can and I am leaving the club in a healthier position, both on and off the pitch.
“I would like to thank the team for all their hard work and professionalism over the years and wish Millwall Lionesses all the best for the future.”
Everyone at Millwall Lionesses would like to thank Alberto for his many years service to the club and we wish him ever success in his future career.
