Right-back staying in hospital following 'detailed knee op'
Carlos Edwards will spend the next two nights in hospital after undergoing surgery on his damaged knee ligaments on Thursday evening.
Right-back Carlos was stretchered off in Millwall's 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest last Saturday after just seven minutes, having fallen awkwardly challenging Britt Assombalonga for the ball.
Lions physio Bobby Bacic told millwallfc.co.uk: "Carlos had a detailed knee operation last night; it was long and involved full reconstructive surgery to his ligaments.
"Because of the severity of the injury he sustained, Carlos is staying in hospital for the next two nights to set him up as best as possible for his rehabilitation.
"Once out of hospital, he will remain on crutches and in a brace for the next six weeks. We will then take it stage by stage.
"The surgeon was very pleased at the end of the operation and Carlos is in a positive frame of mind."
