Preview: Millwall v Wolves

18 October 2014

All you need to know about Saturday's game

Millwall will be looking for their first victory since Saturday 30th August when Wolverhampton Wanderers visit The Den on Saturday (3pm).

Ian Holloway's Lions will head into the match hoping to maintain the level of performance seen in their last outing at Derby County, a 0-0, some two weeks ago.

What the managers say

Ian Holloway: "This is a great one. Our fans have something really exciting to look forward to. I'm looking forward to seeing Kenny, but we will be at each other's throats. Hopefully my Lions will be stronger than the Wolves!" To listen to Ollie click here.

Kenny Jackett: "Millwall is a unique football club with a great siege mentality. I received great backing when I was manager there, not only from the chairman and the directors, but from all the people behind the scenes, the groundsman, the kitman, everyone. That's what I told Ian he could expect and that was one of the reasons I enjoyed such a long and happy association with the club." To read more click here

Team news

Lions boss Ollie is boosted by the news that winger Lee Martin has overcome a knee ligament injury and is available for selection.

Midfielder Nicky Bailey (calf) remains a doubt whilst defender Carlos Edwards continues his rehab after surgery on ruptured cruciate knee ligaments.
Wolves midfielder Bakary Sako faces a late fitness test after only returning from international duty with Mali on Friday, although striker Nouha Dicko has recovered from an Achilles injury and could feature.

Saturday's game at The Den will be the 40th meeting between the two clubs, and to date Wolves have the upper hand with 19 wins to Millwall's 11 in all competitions. Nine games have been drawn.

The Lions' last victory against Wolves came the last time the two sides met at Molineux in November 2012, a 1-0 win thanks to a late goal by Andy Keogh.

Ironically young striker Aiden O'Brien, who made his first senior start for Millwall against Derby County two weeks ago, made his first ever appearance in a Lions shirt as an 18-year-old sub in a Carling Cup defeat at Wolves in 2011.
