Midfielder Shaun praises backing of Den faithful
Millwall could have been dead and buried by the 65th-minute mark, at which stage they trailed 2-0 and were a man down following Andy Wilkinson's dismissal just moments before Rudy Gestede added to Shane Duffy's opener for Rovers.
But spurred on by the home crowd, who quite literally roared the team on to the final whistle, Williams and his team-mates dug in with great spirit and determination to claw their way back through Lee Martin (72mins) and then his own crisp 25-yard finish that flew into the back of the net.
Speaking to Lions Player Shaun said: "The decisions haven't really been going our way, but we're still digging deep and I think that with 11 on the pitch we probably could have won it.
"We always have the belief that we can get back in a game. I don't know what it is at the minute but we need to concede before we come out and attack. It's strange; we just need to shape up at set pieces and keep doing what we're doing going forward.
"We've got Brentford next at home this Saturday and we can take real encouragement from Tuesday night and can now hopefully push on."
