Action from League Cup clash

It proved to be penalty shoot-out heartbreak for Neil Harris' exciting young charges as Millwall's U21s were edged out 8-7 in Tuesday's League Cup Third Round tie against West Ham United U21s.

Fred Onyedinma had fired The Lions ahead in extra time after the two teams had battled to a 0-0 score at the end of 90 minutes. But just moments after Fred gave Millwall the lead, West Ham levelled through Jaanai Gordon.

Having beaten Colchester 6-5 on penalties in the previous round, The Lions had good reason to be hopeful of history repeating itself. Unfortunately on this occasion it was not to be and it was the home side who edged home 8-7 to book their place in the Fourth Round.

All the best of the action is captured here in our special photo gallery.
