Skipper Matt remembers - a decade on
What were you doing ten years ago today - 22nd May 2004?
Chances are you were either in Cardiff at the Millennium Stadium or glued to a TV set somewhere as Millwall lived the impossible dream, facing the might of Manchester United in an FA Cup Final.
Those memories will stay with us forever, as even more so will those from that Semi-Final victory against Sunderland at Old Trafford which set up our first ever Cup Final date.
One man had the unique honour of leading a Millwall side out for the Final, skipper Matt Lawrence and he recalls the mixed emotions of the day.
"The game itself was a bit of a blur," he recalls. We had one or two injuries and suspensions, so we found it tough against a very good United side.
But the day itself, from the bus ride to the stadium and the parties afterwards will always stay with us, as will that great day up in Manchester.
I can't believe it was a decade ago. It only seems like yesterday."
