Forde focused

Keeper eyes international programme

While the majority of the Millwall squad have their feet up in the sun, keeper David Forde is still working up a sweat at the training ground with goalkeeping coach Kevin Pressman in preparation for a series of international friendlies.

With forthcoming fixtures in Dublin, at Craven Cottage in London and two in the USA, culminating against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in the latter's final pre-World Cup warm-up match, Fordey is desperate to remain in top shape before meeting up with the Irish squad on Thursday.

He said: "I'm used to my season continuing after everyone else has finished, and I'm looking forward to these games for Ireland. I'll get my holidays with the family in a few weeks time."

If you want to find out more about Fordey's Ireland dates, and his tip for the World Cup, look out for two exclusive interviews on Lions Player shortly.

And on the subject of Mr Ronaldo, this week on Lions Player we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of The Lions' 2004 FA Cup Final appearance against Manchester United.

Tony Warner, who sadly missed that historic match through injury, sets the scene on Tuesday, followed by the man who had the unenviable task of marking Ronaldo, Robbie Ryan, on Wednesday, and skipper Matt Lawrence on Thursday, the anniversary of the Final itself.
