Buzzing for Bees re-match

1 May 2014

Davies looks ahead to Lionesses' clash

The Lionesses are back in action tonight when they make the short trip north of the river to face London Bees for the second time in just five days in their first FA WSL Continental Cup tie.
The two teams last met on Sunday, when they shared four goals in a thrilling 2-2 FA WSL 2 League game at The Den in a match that saw the home side finish with 10 players after Lillie Billson was dismissed in the second-half.

Despite locking horns again so quickly, Millwall defender Kylie Davies

admits that having waited long enough for the season to start, the busy schedule is welcome.
"The season felt like a long time coming, so it's nice to get into things now with another competition," she said.

"Even though the two games against London Bees come in the space of a few days they're two different matches of football and it was nice to get the league game out of the way first.

"The league is what we're pushing for this season and, because people aren't talking about us as title contenders, we want to prove them wrong.

"The Continental Cup definitely ranks below the league but it will be a good stage to see how we do against the top teams like Arsenal and Chelsea.

"We see it as a good chance to use our whole squad and hopefully we can build on our Continental Cup performances in the league."

The Lionesses match this evening is at The Hive, Camrose Avenue, Edgware with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Millwall are back in FA WSL 2 action here at The Den this coming Sunday, 4th May, when they entertain Reading FC Women. Tickets proced at £5 adult and £2 U16s are available from the Millwall ticket office or online here
