Millwall pair set for Prostate Cancer UK cycle challenge

5 June 2014

Tonks and Taylor make up Team Millwall for charity event

Close to 160 willing participants, made up mostly of staff members and fans from Football League clubs across the country, are taking part in this weekend's London to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

As well as being Millwall's principal partner throughout the 2013/14 season, Prostate Cancer UK is also the Football League's chosen charity, and this year's cycle event promises to generate significant funds for the work they do in raising awareness for the disease.

Two of our media team - programme editor Billy Taylor and photographer Brian Tonks - make up 'Team Millwall' for the challenge, which will begin at Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium on Friday and end a day later in the centre of Amsterdam.

The route is a total of 150 miles, 96 of which will be completed on a gruelling first day which sees the group cycle to Harwich for an overnight ferry to Holland.

Between them Brian and Billy have so far raised over £2,000 for Prostate Cancer UK but the pair are looking to surpass their personal fundraising targets by as much as possible before setting off. To show your support, visit Brian's donation page here and Billy's here.
