Academy Director key to Lions future

Lions boss Ian Holloway is looking to add new faces to his squad in the near future, but is also prepared to give youth its head next season.

Ollie has made no secret of the fact that he is keen to make signings, particularly in the forward areas, but he is also prepared to make room for a number of home produced youngsters.

He said: "Last season we gave young Fred Onyedinma a taste of first team football, and I'm now looking to see what the likes of John Marquis, Aiden O'Brien, Jack Powell and Jake Goodman can do for us.

"It is important to find that blend of players who did well for us at the end of last season, some new additions and a number of our own talented youngsters.

"I'm delighted that Scott Fitzgerald, our Academy Director, has decided to stay with us in spite of a very good offer from Fulham. He is vital to us because he is doing an excellent job, setting the standards for our young players and bringing them through.

"I think he shares my vision for the future of this club and will take great pride in every one of his boys who makes it into the first team."
