Ed Upson is looking forward to getting some more match action under his belt in Millwall's upcoming pre-season fixtures.

The midfielder played the first-half of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Dartford and looks set to feature in the weekend visit to Stevenage, after which Millwall face a testing encounter with Real Mallorca at The Den.

"All pre-season games are tough, especially the first one," Upson told millwallfc.co.uk. "But I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next one against Stevenage and the ones after that because it's the games that get you properly fit for when the season starts.

"The gaffer is putting his style of play onto the new lads and the ones who have been here a little bit longer are re-learning it. It's about putting everything together so that we can start the season on the same wavelength."

Byron Webster made his Lions debut against The Darts and Upson believes his ex-Yeovil team-mate is settling in well at the club.

"I know Byron well so he's been round mine a bit and we've been travelling to games together," the 24-year old said.

"He's doing well in training but I knew Byron would do because he is a good player. The lads like him as well because he's got a great personality.

"Everyone is bonding together quite well and getting to know one another."
