McDonald back for Stevenage game

18 July 2014

Striker Scott set to return on Saturday

Lions boss Ian Holloway is expected to welcome Scott McDonald back into his squad as Millwall head to League Two side Stevenage for their second pre-season friendly on Saturday (3pm).

Striker Scott sat out Tuesday night's pre-season opener - a 1-0 win at Dartford - with a slight thigh strain but returned to training on Thursday and is set to be included in a travelling party that also features youngsters Fred Onyedinma, Jake Goodman and Sid Nelson.

At Dartford on Tuesday Ollie used 26 players in all, and he will again give the majority of his squad 45 minutes of playing time at Broadhall to continue building up the players' fitness levels.

"The lads need 45 minutes and they should feel better and stronger after the Dartford game," he told Lions Player. "We want to try and play better than we did the other day and score more goals than we did the other day.

"I said to the lads that we managed to get a clean sheet with two totally different teams at Dartford and we scored one goal, so hopefully we'll move on from that and take on a tougher team in Stevenage."
