Hundreds turn out for retail therapy at The Den
Lions boss Ian Holloway cut the ribbon at 12.30pm on Friday afternoon to officially open the Lions Store at The Den, before addressing nearly 200 fans who had arrived to get a first peak at Millwall's new retail outlet, and make a purchase or two, including the home strip for 2014/15 which went on sale for the first time.
Ollie took time out to pose for photos and chat to fans after making a rousing speech, and Millwall's Head of Merchandising and Retail, Stuart Lock was delighted with the turnout and with the event.
He said: "We were still hanging shirts out and putting items on shelves five minutes before the store opened, so it really was a bit nerve racking over the past few days.
There was also the worry that nobody would turn up, but it seems the fans were keen to have a look at what we've done, and of course to meet Ollie."
Lifetime Lions fan Dedge Kempster commented: "This is great. I think that as a club we really needed something like this because retail is vital for football clubs these days and what we've got now is a real step in the right direction."
