Bromley 1 Millwall U21s 2

19 July 2014

Full-time from Hayes Lane

First-half goals from Kris Twardek and Mitchell Pinnock secured  2-1 win for Neil Harris' U21s in their second pre-season friendly at Bromley's Hayes Lane ground on Saturday afternoon.

Chopper's charges, including Paul Robinson and Danny Shittu at the heart of defence, followed up last weekend's goalless draw at Faversham Town with a solid team display.

Twardek opened the scoring after 14 minutes, glancing a header home from close range after the Bromley defence had half-cleared the danger.

The home side were denied an equaliser on 25 minutes when Lions striker Alfie Pavey managed to divert Rob Swaine's goal-bound header onto the cross bar.

However from the resulting corner, the ball came back to Moses Ademola and his cross picked out Pierre Joseph-Dubois, who powerfully headed past Denzel Gerrar in the Millwall goal.

It took barely two minutes for The Lions to regain the lead courtesy of Pinnock's arrowed drive from the edge of the area that gave the home keeper no chance.

Twardek nearly added his second - and Millwall's third - moments later only to see his effort thump the woodwork.

Keeper Gerrar made a great save just before the break when he managed to push Sam Higgins shot round the post for a corner after the Bromley man had sprinted through the backline.

Bromley created a number of chances after the break, but it was Chopper's side who kept their shape and defensive composure to run out 2-1 winners.
